All Star Jazz Band, with Musicians from New Orleans, Dallas & Austin, will perform for ATJS June 11 concert at Red Lion Hotel
Traditional Dixieland favorites reminiscent of the heyday of hot jazz in New Orleans will be performed by veteran jazzmen at the Red Lion Hotel's Club Max on Sunday, June 11 from 2 to 5 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Austin Traditional Jazz Society. In addition to its membership, the general public is invited. The cover charge is $10.00.

New Orleans native Conrad "Connie" Jones III on trumpet. He has played with Pete Fountain, Jack Teagarden and The Dukes of Dixieland. He also has toured all over the country with his own Crescent City Jazz Band, including a memorable concert for the ATJS at the Austin Scottish Rite Theater in 2003. Connie has played many jazz festivals, both leading the Crescent City and as a guest artist.
Ed Stoddard of Venice, Florida on trombone. In the early 1990s, Ed spent several years touring with Connie Jones and the Crescent City Jazz Band. He has led his own Panama Hat Band, and is the trombone player in the Real Dukes of Dixieland, a new version of the Dukes assembled by the Assunto family.
Dallas reedman Bob Krenkel on clarinet, soprano saxophone & bass saxophone. A jazzman for over 35 years, he has played with bands from Alaska to Florida.
Tommy Griffith on piano. He is leader of the New Orleans Jazz Band of Austin.
Dave Stoddard on tuba. He has performed with numerous east coast jazz bands before being transferred to Austin.
Budge Mabry on drums. He is a veteran of jazz bands in Austin and San Antonio.
The Red Lion Hotel is located at 6121 N. IH-35 at Hwy 290 in Austin. The Club Max features ample seating, a dance floor and full bar. Full menu available -- meals to snacks. There is free on-site parking.
